Preparation and viewing life, business and everything as a sport

You know how NBA athletes prepare for championships or NFL athletes prepare for the Super Bowl?

The same approach can and should be applied in a business or intellectual sense.

I really don’t know why we don’t look at business in this way and maybe we do but I never hear people talking about it in that way.

Easiest way for me to explain this:

Imagine dedicating yourself to keeping up with technology as it evolves and truly understanding what an underlying technology does and it’s capabilities.

At some point down the line that knowledge / understanding that you’re accumulating will pay dividends.

So down the line when you see an opportunity present itself or you see a problem that you know technology can solve, you’ll be able to take advantage of that opportunity and win.

People will then be like “why are you so confident?” Or “you’re so lucky that you knew”.

But actually what’s happening behind the scenes is you’ve been preparing for that moment in the same sense that NFL athletes prepare for the Super Bowl.

The confidence comes from preparation.

Viewing life, business, everything as a sport and holding yourself to the highest possible standards allows you to perform at your very best and win just like GOAT athletes.

Same rules, different game.
